Does the APv2 handle CAN or is it only ODBII data?

I just used crimp on spades. I didn't see a need to get out the soldering iron. The extra terminal on the switch is to make it light up when on. I didn't really see a need. Off is down and On is up. You will know what position it's in becasue when you turn the ign. to "ON", the fans will start to cycle if it is in test mode.
Could you just connect the connectors together, and interupt the connection by putting a toggle on the actual wires? instead of having to buy connectors and such... I've got tons of toggle switches in the garage, just dont have the connectors.

That's what I did. I just put a toggle between the green wires. The conectors are just spade connectors. You can buy a dozen for like $.99 at home depot.

Besides, you only really need to connect the green wires for the base map.

Just went to Target and bought one! Perfect fit!!! Looks like was built for the AP2...Oh, and it was only $6.99.

For any Canadians out there, I bought the same holder at Canadian Tire for $12.99CDN:

I also bought a retractable USB cable from Best Buy so that I didn't have to worry about tieing the extra length together.

One advantage is that the wire itself is really thin and easy to slide through the gap between the dash panels. I taped the wire so when I remove the AP, it just hangs discreetly to the side:

+1 haha picard I did the same thing... I'm happy with the placement on the vent for now. The Ap should have come with a carring case for that price though.

It bumped my leg a bit, too, so what I did was pop the OBDII plug out of the dash and tucked it in behind the panel with all the wires. The plug is held in by two clips and all I have to do when I go in for servicing is pop it back into the plug holder.

What I did was go to the mall and buy something that I could slip the AP into and protect it from being scratched by the keys in my jacket pocket. It only cost me $2 and comes in a variety of styles and colours:

A newborn baby sock, 86% cotton :

My V1 actually fits in the sock, too .

I popped the ODBII plug out of the dash and tucked it in behind the panel. Then I zip tied it so it wouldn't fall out. When I take it in to the dealer for service, I'll just cut the tie, and put the plug back. I took some pictures of it, but I won't have access to them until tonight.

Here is my ...

V2 looks so nice it is almost impossible throw that think in glove box. So I was thinking where to put my AP and also how. My criteria :

Easy removable
No drilling or gluing
No wires/cables visibility

After 4 hrs of thinking and walking around store and 30min of work here is the result.

You need:

Retractable mini USB Cable … $ 20.00 BestBuy

Universal Swivel Belt Clip w/Dash Mount … $9.00 AutoZone

I think this is the best and clean solution. Climate control is of course fully functional those knobs have a clearance few mm. Just a perfect fit.

First I unplug OBDII connector…

Then I relocate that under dashboard…

Then I plug new USB cable and hide behind plastics and run through center console through ashtray.

Last thing I place double side tape cell phone holder in right place and that’s it.

just got my ap v2 today. flashed my ecu, everything is all good. now i need to mount it somewhere.. some great ideas here. one thing though, my ap will reset(turn off and on) itself by the slightest touch of the obd connector. anytime I hit a bump in the road it will reset therefore i can only see boost pressure or any live data on smooth roads. is this happening to anyone else? i don't know if its just mine and it has a weak connection somewhere. I want to mount this thing but if i have to keep selecting and scrolling live data everytime i hit a bump then theres no point. i just want to enjoy this thing already!
