Post Whistling Noise After Installing DP

What is the loud whistling noise that occurs under load? Not heard while idling. Only slightly loud while low reving in place. Is that the turbo noise thru the DP? Anybody know or can shed some light? Does it happens to all DPs!

An aftermarket DP really wakes up the turbo sound. If you don't have any leaks, thats all it is. Enjoy!

Yea, like they said.. Downpipe makes the turbo loud, and it sounds great. Reminds me of a huge truck when it really gets going.

^^yes. unless you have an STI or an 06 or later (i'm assuming you have some kind of turbo impreza here but you should really fill out your profile) then you have an up-pipe cat. And sometimes, when adding aftermarket modifications to your car, and sometimes even NOT, this up-pipe cat likes to let little peices of itself fly into your turbo. So you might want to take care of this:

--soon, you can either gut your stock up-pipe, or buy an aftermarket one, that is if you DO have a up-pipe cat--otherwise an aftermarket up-pipe would be in vain.

Not if you use a divorce DP with all the stock heatshields. No whistling allowed while driving.
