http://www.stinkeebeetletribe.com/jason/subinstall2.jpg I was originally going to purchase some Pioneer shallow mount 10" subs in my truck and make a custom box for them but I decided to try and engineer something a little tricker to put in my two old 12" subs from my old car.. It's a sealed enclosure and it should be right around 1.5cf. It comes out from the switch-back system by about 7 inches, and easily comes out if I ever wanted to haul anything long. My only problem now is that the box fit perfectly and sealed perfectly before with the seat up - but then I carpeted it and now it's too tight! grrrr... will have to re-think things a bit. tomorrow.

The box is all one piece. But it can slide forward if I put the back seat down or I can completely remove it if needed so as to haul something long. It seals very nicely against the rubber seal that the hatch door normally seals against.
Gonna have a closer look as to the carpet not allowing the seats to close today. |

I just saw your box today when I was considering a similar box for mine.
Can you give me the outside measurements for the part of the box that's inside the cab? I've just bought a 10" shallow mount sub and I'm trying to figure out if I can build a box that will fit in between the seat and the door to the bed so I don't have to remove the bed. Thanks, Scott |
