Unhappy T-boned!

First off,Happy New Year All. I won't be able to make it to any events any time soon as I was t-boned at the intersection of Lake Otis & 80th on saturday the 23rd in my way to the airport. Everyone in my car was ok,thank goodness. Now comes the insurance B.S. Thankfully the other guy has insurance. I'm asking everyone to please, please not run red lights-its just not worth it. I'll keep everyone up to date as i may need some new parts . Take care and be safe!

Sorry to hear, glad everyone is alright.

I know I was almost dead here a few weeks ago due to a super late red light runner. @ 76th and Cst, some ass wipe was traveling north on Cst in a expedition and as I was turning left onto Cst, he comes barreling threw, there was some bad sun light but thats no excuse, glad I saw him in the corner of my eye...I always look both ways to and no one was in site so I went for it...he stopped next to me at the next stop light trying to say sorry sorry, I just waved em on and gave him the dumb ass look...

Sorry dood.

yikes! glad you are ok!

but yes, Anchorage is the worst for red light runners. i know i've run a few, but i try hard not to do that. i've seen many accidents and injuries due to red light runners.

sucks that it was your new car too!

The other guy ran the light after I waited for another idiot to get through running the light coming from the other direction. I will know more tomorrow as they just towed my car to the bodyshop(sob).

Very glad that you're OK. I hope the insurance BS doesn't drag on too long for you. Probably it won't since it is a cut and dried case of the other driver at fault.

How did the 2.5i stand up to the hit? Did the side airbags help, do you think?

What kind of damage? I hear "t-bone", and I get mental pictures of some serious damage.

Glad to hear everyone's okay.

The impact took out the driver-side rear door and pushed the rear wheelwell onto the rear tire. No airbags deployed. There is a buckle in the driver-side rear c pillar but the rest of the car looks ok. I'm hoping it isn't a total loss after all I've put on/in it so far. I'll know by tomorrow. Sniffle.

I know you say you don't want it to be a total loss, but in all actuality you do want it to be a total loss. That car will never ride the same ever again. You could have the worlds best body shop fix it, and it will always ride like poo. Cars just aren't designed to take that kind of impact anymore, and be rebuilt good as new. Either way hopefully insurance treats you fair.

Talking Nothing structural

Well the autobody guys at Spruce Park say its all cosmetic and will take about $5100 and a month or so to fix. Now all I need to do is work on the intake I'm making and wait. And,yes I do have GAP.

aleutdude - Do you have a commute around 5pm that has you near Bragaw/UAA? I've seen a black 06 there alot around that time, but not in the past 2-3 weeks.

Just wondering.

Not me-I think I'm the only black Impreza with a pair of Hella 500s on the front.
