Default NA Cool down procedeure?

Just curious... my car is back to stock for the time being and I was beating the crap out of it last night, I just felt really bad turning it off still wound up.

Is there any type of cool-down procedeures that you guys use? I just kinda waiting until my EGT's dropped below 800F before shutting down... was all I could do. :-/

i just let the cooling fans cycle at least once....but i usually let it run for about a minute to keep the oil circulating. Gotta get an oil cooler son.

funny you should mention that, because I feel the same way, the turbo is off for now and its has become a habit to allow the TT to do its thing. That and it still makes people look at me all weird as I leave my car running...

Heh, yeah... thats a damn quick exit and after last night's tests, I'm sure I could pull a faster exit there. Damn, I need some downforce...

magic really nothing...you don't need to worry about oil coking in passeages...i just feel bad beating on my car and then just shutting it off w/o giving in a minute to pull some heat away from the oil, antifreeza, and block.

I let my car do a cool down run, usually that stretch of street that leadss up to the house. (8Complex has a longer stretch of street, but he normally does not slow down too much on it. ) I'm also running synthetic so I'm not too worried about oil coking.

As for brake fade.. It still takes a lot to get the Cobb pads and slotted rotors to fade.

I usually drive around the block a few extra times at granny speeds (under 3kRPM) to let the brakes, engine, and everything else cool down before parking and shutting the car off. Don't ask me how, but I've had my slotted rotors glowing in the outback.

It's a really bad idea to park your car with glowing rotors.
