Question ebay HID conversion kit w/ pics help

I got my kit in the mail and opened it this morning, placed the instructions aside, took everything to the garage, went out, and back to get instructions and have not seen them since.

Sice I lost my instructions, now I am lost as far as the install goes, here are some pics....

most of the kit....

seems simple enough to get the light inside the housing...then mount the ballast...

im pretty lost here...where does this all connect? wheres all the power located under my hood?

if any one has any input thanks

email convo with vendor...whos more retarded: me for losing instructions within 5 min of opening box ,or the vendor?

me: Hello, I recieved my kit this morning and noticed thre was a small instruction booklet. I cant seem to find it, and was wondering if there are any other instructions? thanks

vendor: Hi, There should be a install manual inside with it. Thanks!

me: Yes, there was, but I think i accidently threw it away =( I was seeing if
you have a copy as I am stuck installing them now

vendor: HI, Sorry but i don't have any extra to send you. Thanks!

The red would go to the battery positive (red) terminal.

The black goes to a chassis ground.

The 2 wires you indicate as "switch" are the leds that would fit into your headlight harness where you originally plugged it to the light bulb.

But nonetheless, you should do a real retrofit. It'll be brighter, but thats about it.. (ack! GLARE!)

thanks that verifies the battery, but what/where exactly is the headlight harness? it should be close to the battery because the wire isnt that long?

why is one black and on red for the leds?

whats a real retrofit? lol I THOUGHT THESE WERE PLUG AND PLAY ******!

Hmm, I don't know what your bulb type is..

But when I got an H7 aftermarket HID kit, I had to use those 2 wires (the black and red) and plug them into the bulb connector. (The wire that you unplug from your lowbeam bulb, and these 2 wires would clip into where the bulb used to clip in)

As for a real retrofit. You're maybe running a pre-06 Subaru (which were non-projector housing based) and thus means you're Halogen (reflector) based. The 04-05 STI's were reflector HID kits.. sure it's bright, but there's no sharp cut-off line that a projector housing (and even better, an HID projector housing can provide).

Because you're running a rebased bulb to fit into your headlight (reflector), chances are that you'll have to lower your headlights (re-adjust them lower) so now to blind your on coming traffic. Read the threads, there's TONS of posts on this.

Hope this helps.

its an H1..thats what i origally thought, but theres only 1 pair of these wires( coming out of the main center fuse thing from the first pic)? so what about the other side, also they dont seperate so it looks like the are supposed to go in the same place

I believe you only need to connect this to 1 side as it will only act as the "switch-ON" for your headlights. This will receive your signal from the headlight switch and thus will turn on your ballasts to turn on the lights.

Try it out. I'd remove the fuse in the HID kit that you got first (the fuses thats on the red line that goes to your battery terminal. Once everything's installed, re-install the fuse and switch on your headlights. Have your car running.

MAKE SURE YOU DISABLE YOUR DAYTIME RUNNING BEFORE ANYTHING ELSE!
