Default HMMM, Old vs. new Exhaust?

I jsut realized that there are actually different versions of exhaust built for pre-MY02 and the new Impreza's. I have a 02 2.5RS and my question is:

Will MY98-MY01 exhaust's (like Stromung) fit my MY02 Impreza?

yes...there is one hanger that faces the wrong direction but you can stretch the rubber hanger far enough to make it work...put a MY01 RS exhaust on a MY02 Outback Sport already....worked great.

I have a GC8 Stromung on my 2002 RS. Simple fix... just move the hanger directly behind the muffler... the mid-pipe is identicle. Just streaching the hanger created some clearence problems... the exhaust banged severly against the rear crossmember... I imagine it would eventually create a leak at the donut seal up front due to undue stress too. Any competent exhaust shop that works with stainless will have you fixed up in a few minutes time. It also should be noted that Stromung, as well as Brullen, make MY02 specefic exhausts.
