Default Keyless entry Fuse???

So, currently my car will not start unless I push the little plunger button that is under the dash at the same time.

The keyless entry stopped working one day. I assumed it was the battery in the remote. Replaced that and no dice. Then I decide to try and re-program the remote just for kicks. Well, when I push the "plunger" button for the ten seconds or whatever is described on www.cars101.com the system does not cycle through the lock/unlock that it is supposed. This leads me to believe that the "box" under the dash is dead.

Is there a fuse associated with the keyless entry/alarm system?

If the box itself is dead what kind of job is it to swap out another one? Plug and play type of switch or cut/splice?

I am still able to drive it, but I literally have to push the button every time I start it. (Could be a good theft deterrant I guess, but I'm not too worried about that...)

I don't want to just go and pull it out with out really knowing what I'm doing as it is clearly wired in line with the ignition...

ANY tips or suggestions would be much appreciated.

Jared
