Default Anyone running 205's on 7" wheels?

Just wanted to hear some opinions. I have the option of getting a great deal on a good set of 205 winter tires but I'd be putting them on my stock '06 WRX wheels. Not sure how safe it is and how well it will take the load. I searched and read the sticky's but only found one post where someone claimed to be using 205's on stock wheels.

I have 205-50/17 M3 snows on 17" Rotas that I purchased used from a member of these boards when he sold his 5x100 STi. They fit well and he raved about their ability to cut down to surface in deeper snow.
Suggest you conside looking up rim specs from tire manufacturer for the sized tire you are considering.

You'll probably be fine. But pull up the specs on the tire you're looking for and they'll tell you what the manufacturer recommends.

I have 205/50-17 Dunlop SP9000's on a set of Rota Tarmac's 17x7.5. They fit well, no problems whatsoever. ( not wide enough for my taste, but i got a good deal )

right wasn't sure, I think I saw somewhere they used 205/55/16... and I see lot's of classic ( pictures ) with 215/45/17, 225/45/17 or 225/40/18. here in portugal, and from the pics I see in the UK, the classics use a lower profile
