Default Holiday House Warming Party Dec 30-31

Here's the scoop:

Quote:
OK, I'm going to make an executive decision. Here's the plan:

we will be hosting 2 parties the weekend of New Years: the NASIOC, bring beer, work party on Saturday the 30th and the family friendly, bring board games to play New Years party on Sunday the 31st. both will serve as a Holiday get together, house warming, and birthday (may as well since it'll be a few days off) celebration rolled into a whole weekend. Please read ALL the instructions below as both parties will have a white elephant gift exchange (i'll explain later for those who don't know what it is), potluck style food, and games (board games). We'll put a movie on downstairs for the kiddies to watch and for some of the younger adults (*cough* Alex *cough*). You don't have to come to any, or you can come to both.

so here's the specifics, I'll reiterate this in the first post too:

NASIOC/work (more adult like but kids still welcome) party
Date: Saturday, Dec 30
Time: 6:00 pm - whenever people go home
Bring: Potluck style, so bring your favorite side dish and we will make hamburgers, hotdogs, or something equivalent. Beer or alcohol is fine.

Family Friendly/Church New Year's Eve celebration
Date: Sunday, Dec. 31, 2006
Time: 7:00 pm - whenever people go home
Bring: potluck style so bring your favorite side dish, beverage, or otherwise to share

What to bring to BOTH Parties:
1. They are potluck style, so bring a side dish, dessert, beverage, or whatever you'd like to share. If you don't have time, I'm sure there will be plenty of food for everyone anyways, so don't let that be your deciding factor.
2. Board games to play like: Monopoly, Cranium, cards, etc
3. Your family
4. white elephant gift: this is an item that you have received from Christmas or the like, you don't really want it, but maybe someone else does. Bring it wrapped and we'll do a Chinese gift exchange... maybe you'll leave with something better!

Remember, this is an open house combined with a Holiday party, house warming, birthday, and well, just cause we like any excuse to get together! Please post up to give me an idea of who and when you'd like to come (I need to get an idea on how much food to buy). Last minute people are welcome to come as well!

Directions to the new house are as follows:

from Tudor head east towards the mountains. when Tudor rounds the corner into Muldoon, you will take the first left at the lights, E 36th Ave. Take your first left onto Scenic View Dr. follow the little winding road all the way down until you see the model home on your left (It has big signs and banners that say "MODEL HOME" so hard to miss). we are almost across the street on the right.

From Northern Lights, go towards Muldoon. Take a right onto Muldoon, a right at the next lights on E 36th Ave, first left onto Scenic View Dr and again, follow the winding road as described above.

4134 Scenic View Drive
we will have the porch lights on and the upper patio will have lights on as well (plus look for the subarus that will be bound to be there)

PM with any questions

Hope

it's just that I'm sick and we still have more unpacking to do. maybe it might be better to do somethinging in Jan? or a small get together for those who want to come over. I was actually thinking of doing a holiday party the weekend after Christmas, before New Years and do a white elephant gift exchange. you know, you always get one of "those" gifts that you just don't know what to do with.... that would kinda be fun.

I thought we were going to host the bible study group on new years. I think the nasioc crew might scare them

and I've been working on the house, I've done a rather large amount I'd say.

i know. you've been working a lot on the house. it's looking great too!

but ya, not sure. we want to do a housewarming thing to invite everyone and then a small thing for New Years. so, lemme look on the calendar and see what people think....

what about a Fri eve or Saturday? the 22nd or 23rd? or we could do the 30th eve after the rally cross (if there is one)??

anyone prefer a specific date? i'd think it'd be easier after Christmas than before... unless other people like ourselves have no lives either, in which case either works for us.

Yeah if you crash over we're leaving the hounds from hell with you. I might get a good night sleep for once.
