Can anyone tell me what the differences are between the MY04 Cobb Stage 2 map and the MY05 Cobb Stage 2 map if any? Would an 05 run the same with and 04 map or 05 map?
Thanks,

they are designed for different firmwares on the AP. no they are not interchangeable, use the one for your MY.

I understand that Cobb Maps are developed to work with two specifically different firmware versions....but my question is pertaining to the actual maps...are they different in any way from each other.
For example: is target boost, WG duty, air/fuel...etc. all the same. I can't think of why the maps would be any different from an 04-05. Thanks, |

ok you're going to make me type aren't you
here goes:a few years back cobb decided to make maps for both 04 and 05's the same. so both MY 04 and 05 ran the same firmware, and the same map. well that didn't work so well for some of the MY04 owners (myself included). it caused stalling issues. to this day i don't think Cobb ever figured out why. eventually they decided to scrap the whole combining of the MY's and seperate them again, creating different firmware's and maps. The MY map will only work with said MY AP, you can't DL 04 maps on a 05 AP and vice versa, so don't even try. the map parameters should be the same. there you have it. |

Alright, I'm gonna ask this in this thread instead of starting another one(considering my thread would be called the same thing).
I have a AP V.1, I'm thinking of getting the V.2.... Is the stage 2 maps on the V.2 any different than the V.1?? If its just the extra features it has and not the maps themselves, I dont see myself wanting to spend that much money on it for just that. I'm planning on getting a Protune soon(pending decision), would it be pointless for me to get the V.2?? A protune on the V.1 is gonna be the same as a Protune on the V.2, right?? |

^^ the maps are the same, the only differneces are in the hardware/feature of the v2. protune *should* cost the same.

^^^^^^^ Cool, thats what I thought!! Maybe I'll just stick with a Protune with my V.1 then.... I can justify myself spending the 695.00 just for the extra "goodies" on it, although they are very nice!!
Thanks for the help!! |
