Default burnt clutch or hot brakes

everytime i launch my car i smell a hot smell, doesnt smell sweet like some say our clutch smells, just smells like hot burn. the street that i practice my launch on has a stop sign at the end that i have to hit, so my brakes are taking a beating too. curious if that smell is my brakes or my clutch toasting.

this isnt a delorean....... honest question. may be stupid, but i want to be sure as i am planning on getting a new clutch if this one isnt going to hold up. i only smell it if i launch there or at the track, so i assume brakes from the slowing down rapidly, and it doesnt have that spicy smell my old car had when the clutch would burn.

you only need to get into 2nd for launch practice so why are you needing to get on the brakes so hard?
you should get a slight clutch smell if your launch is done right.otherwise you arent slipping it enough.

i dont even break 60 when im practicing. 1/4 mile road should give you two launches with my method. just remember to let the car cool down a little between launches.
