Default Perfect power has the worst service ever!

I am getting black balled buy the guys at perfect power.
I picked up an smt6 from one of there distributors.
The tech there said ‘read over the paperwork its all straight forward enjoy’
After scratching my head for a while I feel way too overwhelmed to go it alone. I called up the same tech and asked him if he had a good pin out for my application, he said try there site.
I looked at there site and they don’t have any thing specific for my application (2000 2.5RS SOHC) They have lots of 99 DOHC ones but nothing for mine.
I saw that there disclaimer on there site said that if they didn’t have what I needed email them, supply them with my ecu pin-out and they will make me one.
Both people I contacted basically told me to check with my retailer and also to sit on it.

GRRR…

If any one can help me out, or please, if you have a pin out for my 2000 impreza 2.5rs, please let me know.

cudaeh@yahoo.com

Thank you so much
-Kevin

ok, they got back to me.
heres what they came up with.
diagram off there site.
power from ignition switch
ground from crank position sensor signal (-)
TPS signal from car TPS
AMP signal from atmospheric pressure sensor signal
Crank + from ignition control #1,#2
crank - from ignition control #3,#4
smt 14 pull up to smt8 (wtf that is)
smt 15 pull up to smt5 (wtf that is)

I saw this diagram from there site but dismissed it because the crank + and the crank - didnt look right to me.

Does this look good to you guys?

Lemme know

Truth be told, if you read the SMT6 documentation (which is easy to find and download from their webpage), and you get a pinout for your ECU (which can be found without much trouble, including on the Perfect Power webpage) then it shouldn't be all that hard to install.

Look up my thread, called The Perfect Power Experience, right here on NASIOC. It should answer a lot of your questions.

I installed the SMT6 in my Legacy and it performed fine, including cleaning up a misfire CEL that I got repeatedly.

Most of the problems that I've come across with other people's troubles are related to not reading the manuals, which are quite thorough.

A tiny readability item... and this is meant to be constructive: The possessive form of they is their, not there.

IE, Their product is of a high quality.

Just want to help. Once is a typo, and I find myself guilty of that. The wrong form every time might be a misunderstanding of the correct form. Makes reading easier for people vs the mental hiccup that occurs when reading the wrong form each time.

Regards,
Russ

This, too, is meant to be constructive: That post offers nothing to this thread. Perhaps a better method of conveying your lesson would be via a PM.

We appreciate your grasp of the English language. It shouldn't dilute a tech thread, however.

Grazie,
Rob

Many people are interested in useful information... even if it's not related to the topic at hand. Just scroll on by if not your cup of tea.
