I have the CXRacing radiator on a 04 wrx, I am currently using the stock upper/lower hoses, but my upper is swollen and needs to be replaced...So I got a Gates hose and it will not fit without rubbing on the (passenger-side)pulley, anyone else have issues or know which hose to get for optimal fitment using a CXRacing aluminum rad(off ebay)?

So after a very long jaunt on the test track the other day my stocker seems to have split at a seam. Only leaks during hard acceleration but still it spraying right on the front of my manifold from under the radiator shroud.

Im looking at this rad on ebay

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=33602

Which one is this considered? Im really not worried much about superior increases in cooling since I dont AutoX anymore. Just a suitable replacement for the OEM one.

Or a lil larger one WITH the fans(im assuming they are bigger or higher efficiency?) or is that overkill for another 100 bux?

And should I put in a lower temp thermostat while im in there?

you can try that radiator but its risky because there isnt anyone that has documented that they have tried it. why not try the cxracing radiator? supposively you can see the difference in quality in the welds. i've had koyos all in my cars but had no real reason to replace it in the subie.

use your oem fans, they work very nice.

lower temp thermostat? why not? i got one. it's pretty cheap. grimmspeed FTW.

i know man. hard times and not many of us have the funds like we used to but you hear stories all the time about people buying cheaper parts and then back firing.

i know one of these radiators backfired but all the others are fine. like mentioned before every radiator company has at least one failure.

I bought this radiator off ebay (seller name turboworks):
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...m=120510202036

When it arrived it actually has all the cxracing logos on it. It's well constructed and fits great. I actually pressurized it in a dunk tank when I got it to check for future pinhole leaks and everything was perfect!

So I am very happy with my $120 ebay radiator. If it goes out I will post an update!

Davidss, you're worried about the lack of a warranty on that radiator? Looks to be only a 30 day warranty.

I can't say anything bad about the radiator you purchased davidss, as I have no idea who made or where it possibly came from.

I can say this... our Mishimoto radiators are backed with a lifetime warranty and we even provide an accident protection plan, too! PM me if you have any questions.

I have purchased the same radiator quoted above. I am always concerned about cooling as the 22t cas obviously less of a cooling jacket than the open/semi-closed deck engines. Im pretty psyched about it, I combined it with a cooler thermostat and some water wetter. It was cheap insurance as even though its not a three row, its got more volume than the stock setup and I got it to fit just like stock.

I trimmed the rubber stops that fit into the top radiator brackets and it sits perfectly. I even got my panel on there. I'll post pics.

Post some pics. I need a replacement myself since my stock one is spraying all over and it's not pretty. I might get the same one, I would like to get Mishimoto but being a college student my budget is on the minus side and I have other problems with the car .

Just had a CXRacing radiator installed, no problems at all. Took about an hour from the point I pulled into the garage to when it was done, no fitment issues. The welds are surprisingly good for $120 shipped. I would defiantly recommend this radiator, I dont know how other eBay radiators are though.

Yes, that is very true. I actually turned my A/C on a few minutes ago and the fan that turns on with it is making a horrible noise. Ill have to check it out more, everything else is fine though. I'm one of the lucky ones that doesn't leak...that I can see.

Now I'm wondering if an eBay turbo inlet would be worth it, too many mixed reviews to make this decision.

So Went to Ebay checked this out and found an All aluminum RAd for $180 shipped. So I went for it and within 5 days I received it.
Below are what I've done:

Open box time.

Replacing the Thermostat was a may as well thing. Trust me it's worth doing it at this time a lot more access.

you need to trim the ends approx 1/4" each end as this rad is 1/2" thicker than stock.

Question

So Ive been running my Godspeed 2 row form Ebay and so far so good, but even with the 2 row and water wetter I dont noticed the stock tempature gauge and lower than normal, or if it is, just a fraction of where it was. Is that normal? I was expecting a noticeable different.

with the inlet thing, i don't think it'll be any issues with the ebay versions but the gimmick one doesn't cost that much more. might as well get something that has been proven.

The ebay inlets suck closed. It's not a myth. I tried one and it sucked closed the first time I went wot. You might get away with it on a stock td04 at low boost, but any kind of real turbo at higher boost will suck it closed.

I have no problem with ebay parts when they work. The inlets don't.

I guess I'll go with the GMS inlet, especially since Im going to skip getting a tune on my td04 and go right for a new Blouch EvoIII 16g.
