Default Actron CP9175 resets ECU?

I recall reading that its predecessor, the CP9135 (or was it 45) did not reset the ECU to clear codes... But yesterday I cleared a CEL, drove home, and noticed my fuel trims were out of whack. Yet all of my readiness monitors were "OK" or "N/A" by the time I checked. So I guess the question is, can readiness monitors all pass within 40 miles? I didn't think they could. But why would my fuel trims go all crazy like the ECU had been reset?
