Talking what a differnce a plug makes! or 4 hehe

Well I just changed my spark plugs, took all of about 5 minutes, should have done it sooner but since I work on cars for a living, its the last thing I want to think about when I get home
I recently noticed a loss of power and gas mileage...I finally got so annoyed with it I finally broke down and changed them.

so anyway....

I took out the stock chumpions...and man they where beat! w/ only 22k on them ahahaha what crap.

I put in some NGKs took the car for a ride and wow, I was amazed at the differnce, my power is back and its smoother than when the car was new! Lets just say accelaration from a rolling merge to 90 made me smile Even my stromung seems to sound happier ahah ya I know hehe

Best mod ive done for 8 bux...

Now go change your stock chumpions! now!

I hear ya!
I changed mine last weekend (14k on the clock) in preperation of a drive out west, and did an ecu reset at the same time. Engine starts quicker, is smoother at idle.
Gotta love those NGK's.

Replaced mine last weekend with NGK's. The OEM Cahmpions were toast. Car feels like it runs better than when I drove it off the lot.

Why oh why did Subaru go with Champions as an OEM plug??? They put the NGK replacement art number in the manual for kripes sake!!!

be where?? john you got to much money you better give me some

They put chumpions probably cause chumpion gave them a really good deal to use their plugs, deep down at heart they know ngk and denso irridium are better plugs but they dont cost 99 cents like the chumpions

I paid 2.16 each for mine and thats my cost w/out tax..blah blah cause im a tech

List is like 4 something me thinks

John ill put your plugs on for ya if you want, just dont know when and where...???

some rs's i think do have ngks from the factory but im pretty sure all 2000 my have chumps.

IIRC the motors were assembled here, not japan. That is why they come with crap ass champions.

I got my plugs for free with an Isuzu box....hehe...maybe passports are good for something after all...on second hand, NO their not.

I switched mine out around 30k and I had the same situation, extremely fouled and most worrying was the gap in the plug. It was way to far open on all four. Much smoother performance now. Oh yeah, that was an easy job, I love workin on the scoob.

Yup, those are the plugs I used, got them at Advance Auto parts for $7.50 + tax. They made a huge difference and I only had 5,000 miles on my car. The champions came out all nasty looking and the center electrodes were off center in the ceramic! Definetly some shotty quality control and craftsmanship. It seems as though the NGK's added linearity to the power band and made the car smoother as well as possibly more powerful (read: more responsive).

Just in case anybody wonders: Champion spark plugs are for lawnmowers ONLY! Never put Champions in any vehicle you drive.

To tell you the truth, I didn't really notice that much of a power increase when I changed from the "John Deere's" to the NGK coppers, although I did notice that the car idled smoother and got slightly better gas mileage. . .Definitely not as much added HP as a nice big vinyl decal

I think that NHRA dragsters use Champion coppers... but then again they probably only use a set of plugs once before ditching them.
