Thumbs up Drew Barrymore once walked in on me in taking a leak.

True Story.

I was a roadie for a band called Sky Cries Mary between 1992 - 1999. We had some success (especially locally) and had recently been playing some pretty big shows. One show in late '94/early '95 at Seattle's Mercer Arena had a lineup which, at the time, I thought was particularly cool:

311
Weezer (their first stadium show, the drummer and I met delivering T-shirts to the vendors)
Rancid
Sky Cries Mary
Green Day
Hole

At one point during the show I had been sitting back stage with our drummer drinking beers and I got up to use the john. Unknown to me was the fact that we were sharing a common restroom with the band next door, which happened to be Hole. Also unknown to me, Drew Barrymore was dating Hole guitarist Eric Erlandson. I was about to find out.

I'm in the stall when I here the door door bust open. I turn around still fairly exposed. Drew Freaking Barrymore looks at me, looks down at the open fly, and looks back up and says; "Oh, sorry!" before exiting.

I'm stunned. I walk out of the bathroom and ask my friends if that was who I think it was. They say yes and I'm instantly starstruck. Drew Barrymore just saw me exposed. I proceeded to stalk her for the rest of the night but was never able talk to her.

That's my story. I'm sure I'll be telling it to my grandkids!

CNs:

I was a roadie.
Drew was a groupie.
I took a leak.
Drew saw my junk.
I turn into stalker.

I was wishing I had her recently released issue of Playboy handy, but alas, it was on the tourbus and not in the john with me where it belonged.

I like your story, but it's also over 10 years late.

Sky Cries Mary was a very wierd band. I loved them, but there was no way they were going to be commercially succesful.

they're still around though.

Their keyboardist, Gordon Raphael, is now a producer (he did The Strokes first 2 cds)

So, the reason you were stalking her was to defend your honor like George Costanza.

I smoked crack with George Clinton. When I worked for MTV networks 1999-2002 I was on tour with Pete Yorn doing video. We had a stop in Philly and I was asked to video tape George Clinton with Parliament and Del La Sol opening. Anyway I was in the trailer with Pete Yorn and some other people and George sent over one of his guys to see if we had any grass. I gave him some grass and he invited us back to the bus to smoke. Anyway George Clinton rolled that **** up with some crack rock and we smoked it.

I saw jazzman Ramsey Lewis in his underwear.

Drew Barrymore - she seems very down to earth, fun and likeable whenever I see her I talk shows.

That's really something you want to admit to people.

Smoking crack isn't exactly a swanky thing to do. I don't care who you're doing it with.

You should have done the "batwing"!

I don't know if she could have handled "The Brain".

That's something great to say as you enter a crowded room. (uncomfortable attempt to make this into a normal conversation)

Hey, at least it wasn't Roger Clinton! (attempt #2)
