Default 05 WRX AP on 04 WRX

Hi,

CAn a 2005 wrx AccessPort work with a 04 car? I heard that you need to flash the 04 firmware but have not had any luck finding it.

Thanks,

-Gary

this on a v2.0 ap? all the maps come on the cd and can be put into the ap manager, then loaded onto the ap. all you need is the right initialization connector.

just do a browse on the cd. if its for a ap v2.0

if this is the AP v1 then you can flash an 04 wrx with the 05 AP. the problem is that your car will randomly stall on you occasionally. i don't think cobb ever fully solved the problem, so they released some software so you could flash your 05 AP into an 04 ap. problem is that some people couldn't follow simple directions and fried their AP. so then sometime later I think cobb pulled this software and recommends that you send them the AP to be flashed. i think this software is still floating around somewhere but i do not know exactly where.

yes it can be done. no cobb won't do it, and they removed the SW DL from their website so you can't do it yourself. i have it, and i'll send you the SW that flashes the AP back to an 04 AP.... for a nominal fee of course
