Looks like you're in the market for a new 06-07 WRX
OR
used 04-05 STI

you plan on modding? If so, I suggest to find a use non-heavily modded STI

Whether you plan on modding or not, I'd stay away from any modded car. If it's modded most likely whoever owned it wanted to go fast so they drove it hard. Also, I'd try to buy one from a private party so you can see and talk to the person that has been driving it. Personally, the 04-05 body style is what I like best, so if you can actually swing the $25k mark, I'd look at a used STI. As for me, I know a lot of the guys are saying 06-07 for the 2.5L motor, but if you go used, and you have a budget of $25k if you picked up say that 04 for $16k for $9k in mods, you could have real nice 2.0L with some additional suspension mods. Good luck, no matter what Subaru you buy, I'm sure you'll love it. It's not always about going fast. A lot of the time I enjoy my '00 RS more that my '04 modded WRX.

i think banks will give you a lower intrest rate for something newer... and then theres the warranty on the vehicle.. an 04 is that much faster out of warranty then say an 07. when i had my bug eye i remember how guttless it was on the fwy. now that i have a 2.5 station wagon it goes really nice on the fwy.
