Legacy Another set of wheels

One of my Formels is bent, so instead of spending money on replacing one of four (which I'll eventually do anyways), I decided to wait until a good set of aftermarket wheels came along to use instead. I've had the Formels for over two years, and even though I have the P1s, I felt like something new.

Luckily a local NASIOC/RMIC guy had a set of wheels for sale that fit the bill, and the price point. I picked them up on Sunday and had them mounted this morning. I even washed the car!

Rota SDR 17x7.5" "Hyper Black"

I like it. I was afraid that they'd be too black, but they're glossy enough that they're not contrasted-to-death by the white body paint. The wobble and noise from the bent wheel is gone now, so I'm happy. It's almost a shame to get them dirty, but hey, they're only Rotas

That must have been a looong time ago, because I know they haven't done any there since before 2001.

When they're this cheap, what am I supposed to do!

On a side note, I've now had three Prodrive designs. P7s on the Touring Wagon, P1s on the GT and now these PFF7 copies. Speedline, OZ and Rota...

personally im only a fan of black wheels when they have a chrome perimeter, for contrast reasons.

I like Hyper blacks, dark enough to set off the white, but not too dark to get you in trouble.

I guess you'll have to replace "Gold is chrome" sig now eh?

What are your plans with the Formels? It's a shame one got bent, they were nice looking wheels.

I was also concerned about the wheels contrasting too greatly with the white paint, but they are glossy enough to keep it reasonable. The nice thing about the Formels was the shiny lip which set them off against the steel grey interior and the black tires.

These ones are only for my winter tires, as the P1s with FK-452s are my summer/fair weather wheels. Definitely not a day for those tires today!

I plan on cleaning up the Formels and making sure the three straight ones are in good shape. I might then buy a fourth and sell the set. I'll probably just making some industrial furniture out of the bent one. No reason to have 3/4 a set of wheels sitting around or throwing them away/recycling.
