Default sniff test

i have an 02 wrx with turbo back exhaust. the check engine light is on for the rear 02 sensor. my buddys fuse blew for the obd2 port, so they just took a sniff test, at emisions. i was wondering if i could clear the codes, take the fust out for the port, and take a sniff test. does anyone think this will work? or pass the emission?

i don't get it

Edit: I think I know what you are trying to write now. If you take the ODB2 fuse out then the scanner will not work. As long as you do not have a check engine light you will pass. If you don't have a cat on the exhaust you will most likely fail an exhaust gas analysis.

+1

thought i had it, but lost it.

you want to take a sniff test because your cel is on? or you want to take a sniff test after you clear your cel? seems to me that is going out of your way to do the same thing?

iirc the sniff test is only done with the engine under load, and in order for the engine to be under load it would have to be on a dyno, and emissions doesnt have an awd dyno. i think you will have to do the obdII check.

Why not just fix the cause of the rear O2 sensor CEL? Mechanical or Electrical, both are easy...

I doubt they will let you take the idle sniff test instead of the OBD2 test, but I suppose you could try to slip by them.
