Anyone know someone that knows someone?

Im trying to get a vehicle from Michigan to here....

So far all the quotes have been $2500 +

I wouldnt mind paying $1500 or so.. but $2500 is out rageous.. I could drive it for less.

We do shipping on the side as a small company under the name Transporters. Because we don't really do any of the work I know all about the pricing. There's two parts.
A. The trucking company down in the lower 48. We go through AADA Systems Inc.(AADA.net) They bring the vehicle from Michigan to Tacoma, WA. That price really doesn't change much. Becuase of the price of fuel, prices have only gone up.

B. We go through Wrightway Auto Carriers (WrightwayAutoCarriers.com) which brings the vehicle from Tacoma to Anchorage. Northbound is always more expensive than southbound. You'll have to get Wrightway's updated price, but last time I checked it was $950.00 on the northbound due to a 15% fuel tax.

Cars really aren't like shipping packages. The owner of the company that I work for has known the owners of WrightWay and AADA Systems Inc for the past 20 years. There is no discount lol. The cost of transporting a vehicle is expensive. But WrightWay Auto carriers and AADA Systems have been around for a long time and they are considered the best and the cheapest as far as I'm aware of. That is why we go through them.

I think I priced it out on my car even though I drove it from Ontario to Alaska. I believe it would have been about $2500 USD and it was cheaper and a lot more fun to drive it.

Can you somehow get it to Seattle . Looks like shipping from there would be reasonable.

Prices fluctuate depending on the price of gas per day, todays quote may change from yesterdays.

There are quite a few reliable car carriers here in Alaska, I'd recommend either Wrightway Auto (Bill is a good guy, so is his Dad, whose a legend in the business) or Alaska Vehicle Transport.
People have to remember a lot of the price is dependent on the base price from Totem Ocean Express or Horizon Lines, they are the two water carriers that ship the vehicles.

Discounts are hard to come by for car shipping beacuse there are a lot of middleman involved, there is no direct shipper, unless you willing to go over the road, which I don't recommend.

Good luck!

Evan
