Hi all, I've tried looking for this info here on nasioc and on the web, but couldn't find it. So I thought I would have better luck if I asked here. Does the timing belt and have any kind of warranty on it? If it does, where would it fall under, bumper to bumper or drivetain? Reason I'm looking for this info is that I'm having this odd clicking sound coming from passenger side timing belt area before it reaches operating temp. I know that's another topic so I'll stay away from that, but if I know which warranty it falls into, I'll be better prepared when I take it to the dealership. Thanks.
Steve

Your STi has a timing belt.... not a chain. But you could have a timing belt tensioner going bad and "clicking" if so thats under warranty. Your car will not even run if the belt comes apart. It has a replacement time of every 105,000 miles.

My fault, I worded that badly, I meant to say timing belt and its associated parts. I've been reading threads with similiar problems but not exactly the same. I think its one or more of the tensioners that is/are bad. Just wanted to know it these parts would be covered by warranty. But which warranty would it be, drivetain? Thanks Mav

depends on your in service date and miles you could be under the 3 year-36k mile warranty. Otherwise your in your 5 year 60k powertrain warranty.
