Default 02 wrx into my 00rs

I recently bought a roll over wrx wagon. I have all the necessary parts needed. My question is... would it be easier to swap all the wireing along with the dash from the wrx to my RS or should i just stick to swaping the engine and do all that harness cutting ?

its reallly up to you, depending on what dash you would rather have. I am doing a 03 WRX into my 95 impreza right now and i am having problems putting the heater core and stuff into my car. lots of firewall fabrication. although i think that the RS heater core will actully work with the WRX HVAC controls. And if you have the WRX firewall you can cut out the parts you need on the WRX firewall and weld it onto your RS.

I don't care so much for AC or Heater in this case. I wanna do the swap my self and I'm looking to see what the easiest method would be. cutting the firewall would be out of the question no cutter and I'm not that good of a welder.

It would be easier to swap all the wiring over. Thats ALOT more splicing/wiring if you try to merge the harnesses. The dash is not easy to make fit right. You can swap all the wiring over and still maintain a GC dash and cluster.. or you can even put a GD cluster into your GC dash pretty easily. (looks decent and saves some more splicing) Like FDrif73r said there is alot involved in swapping heater cores/blower boxes so i'd maintain the GC components..

There's no way to have climate control in your swap, a WRX dash and an uncut wiring harness all at the same time. Honestly, its nearly the same number of splices whether you swap over the WRX dash or not and it takes a lot of work for a WRX dash install to look clean.

If you're scared of the wiring just send the harness out to garage tuning or another place that merges by mail.

Cut and trim everything! You'll need new holes for the heater core and ac, and extensive trimming on the dash beam to get it to line up with the GC studs.
