Default Enginuity users, help me with ignition correction tables

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
When comparing the stock map vs an(insert name here) ots stage2 map I noticed differences in ignition correct A,B,C. Since it looks like the base ignition timing table A is the only difference between the two maps, B is exactly the same for both, I assume A is the only one the ecu uses? Is this correct?

The ignition correction A,B,C, have various differing data. A is not the same as B or C, B is not the same as B or A, etc. There are some large changes in some areas. I assume all these tables are used at one time or together at certain times, which tables are used, where, when, why, and how? Which tables should I change for what reasons?

Is it relatively safe for me to play around with the timing as long as I only make small changes and data log often to keep things in check? What kind of benefit could I see in getting the timing just right?

Let me try and clear this up a bit. The stock map has different data in each of the ignition correction tables, A,B,C, just like the other stg2 map. What I need to know is how does the ecu choose which correction table to use? Does it use one at a time or a combination? Point me in the right direction...

This is just a stab in the dark, but if you look at other parameters, it might tell you when each map is used.

For instance MY04 WRX uses High Det and Low Det Fuel Maps. There is a parameter in the Timing Folder called Advance Multiplier Fuel Map Switch. That value of Advance Multiplier triggers a switch between High Det and Low Det Fuel Maps.

I'm sure there is something similar for your 3 timing maps. Are they all base timing maps, or is one of them Ignition Correction?

Hope you figure it out.

I have yet to see any solid, full explanation of which KC map is used when. I can tell you that KC maps 1 and 2 are selected just like Base timing 1 and 2, wastegate 1 and 2, target boost 1 and 2, etc. Most of the maps all switch at the same time. Trick is, all but the KC maps have the same values.

On the 2.5L turbo models you can easily see which one it is using. There is memory address that is a slider to select which KC, WG, etc. map is being used. If you can post your ROM on Openecu.org forums I can tell you what the memory address is so you can log it.

I'll do that as soon as I get my cable. I forgot today was MLK Day. I'm sure my cable will be an extra day or two.

It looks to me as if only the base ignition table A is used. Data for stock and xzx stg2 have differing data in table A but the exact same data in table B. Not good at posting things like that, will try and search for memory address on openecu and enginuity first and see what I come up with. If no luck I'll try my luck at posting the rom.

Thanks for the help.
