Default Font/Center Diff whine @40-45mph... Anyone?

I have a 4EAT and it has a diff whine when under medium throttle between 40 and 45mph. After that speed, it either goes away or is not noticeable due to road/tire noise. Any ideas? Light throttle (i.e. crusing) makes it almost inaudible (but noticible) and decel makes it go away...

Any ideas? Is this normal?

Eric

Eric

I get this sometimes if my tires are improperly inflated. I do have a permanent one at 59 that is quieter depending on inflation too. No idea if it's normal, but my drivetrain makes all sorts of noises.

I would say that is a Suby thing. Even manuals have whining at certain speeds, load VS rpm, and gears. There is a lot rotating parts between the transmission gear set, center diff, front axles, driveshaft, rear diff, and rear axles.
So I would expect to have the same noises w/ an automatic.
Just be sure to change your ATF on a regular basis.
