Default tick tick tick

my car ticks a bit...like at idle it will tick once every second...as i gas it the ticks get quicker and quicker...i would say that it is injector tick but i'm not sure...i've heard people that have ticks when the motor starts and then it goes away...mine doesn't go away...i made a couple clips, but the sound is horrible...

Sounds normal to me. Subarus tick like sewing machines. Re-torque your coil packs as that's probably the cause. If that doesn't fix it, it's normal. Search for and read the Subaru FAQ that I wrote for more advice.

Hi, I had a sound like that too. Mine turned out to be the camshaft belt tensioner. Heavy gizmo with oil inside. Something happens to it (leak and/or loss of pressure?) that causes it to just barely contact the engine block - but it leaves a mark on both engine block and tensioner from hitting it - and goes "tick tick tick" with each impact. Could be worse when engine is cold and under throttle. It is under the camshaft cover, so you can't see it without removing the cover(s). Dealer replaced mine under warranty.
