Default What to do with Dell Inspiron 8600 parts?

Like the title says, I've got a bunch of working parts but the motherboard and graphics card are fried. The laptop belonged to my friends SO and who the hell knows what she did with it, but I finally got the thing in pieces and it looks like the mobo burnt up right undernieth where the GC sits. anyway I've got a perfectly good LCD monitor, 512 mb of ram, a working keyboard, 40gb HDD, and the casing. I've noticed that there are a lot of parts for sale on EBAY so I'm a little reluctant to sell them there. Anyone have a Inspiron 8600 with a cracked screen they want to sell? New\Refurb Mobo and GC are going from around 350 - 500 which doesn't seem worth it.

I looked into converting the monitor to a desktop mon but it seems that it's not as simple as you would think. Any other suggestions other than EBAY?

UPDATE: I forgot to mention I have a DVD/CD_RW combo drive

I was thinking...

1. sell parts on ebay
2. ???
3. Profit!

Unless someone had a better idea or was looking for any of these parts. I was hoping to find one on ebay that had a smashed screen which I could simply replace, alas I have been unable to find one.

But if I can't find a buyer, I will smash or explode it! and get a video for the two of you to snuggle on the couch and watch.

Any better ideas out there?

The GC fan? that's the only one I saw when taking it apart, the CPU has a passive heatsink I believe. If you want it pay for shipping it's yours.
