Default Does anyone know how much I can get in scrap metal for a wheel?

I have several aluminum alloy wheels sitting around with holes in them or that are bent. My question is, does anyone know what grade the aluminum is and approximately how much I can get for them per pound?

thanks!

just take them to a scrap yard. You'll probably get a few bucks a wheel, but it gets rid of them without dumping them into a landfill.

Mix them in with any other scrap you can find and classify it all as light iron ... great prices right now ...

I forget now what I got, I think it was $5 or $10/wheel. They were Mustang Cobra wheels, IIRC, so farily large and heavy. (Beads broke off in an accident) That was a couple years ago, prices could likely be different now.

There is no fixing some of these:

I only ask because a guy offered me $10 for the black/red one and was really not sure why he would want it other than good scrap metal.. one of my friends was thinking close to $2 per pound which means I can make close to $100 with the wheels I have lying around!

anywhere from $5-$25 a rim depending on the weight and what salvage yard you go to. You will be suprised at how much $$ is in scrap aluminum.
