Default 235/50/18 fit on 02 sedan???

I was wonderin if anybody has had 235/50/18's on a sedan and if it was fine with no rubbing issues... I want something with a little more meat on the tire I drive on the freeway a lot and my 225/40/18's are loud and not good at all for the mountains....

i'd highly NOT recommend that size. that's nearly 10% difference. downsize your wheel.

No. Way too big in diameter. Try 235/40-18. A little wider and little taller sidewall.

So you are saying that a 235/40-18 has a taller side wall then a 235/50-18? The 40 series has a shorter sidewall then the 50 does. I believe that is what you meant and don't want to flame on you if so. And as far as the 225/40-18 the only difference going to a 235 is the width. Nothing as far as height. Unless of course you jumped up to the 50 series.

I meant a little taller and wider than the 225/40-18. And a 235/40-18 is going top have a taller sidewall than a 225/40-18. Do you know what the "40" means? It's not a static number, it's a percentage of the width. 40% of 235 is going to be more than 40% of 225.
