Default 215/45/17 fit on a 8" safely?

Good year put a set of 215/45/17 on my 17x8" rims. They looked small where the rim of the wheel doesnt complete touch the tire. Good year said it's no problem, however i would like to get the opinion of experts from here

i'm just scared that the wheel would pop off the beed when i corner hard

thanks for your input

Why can't they put on the right tires for you instead? Mistake, or paid for the wrong ones? They should soak up the cost for replacement if they made a mistake, but I would imagine by you accepting them you might be out of luck on that.

In any case... in my opinion 215 is too small for an 8" wheel... and I would want them to put the right tire size.

What wheels and what tires?

Go to Goodyear's website and see what rim size they recommend for the type of tires they put on the car. For instance, a 215/45-17 F1GS-D3 is good for 7-8" wheels.

i used to run a 215-45 on a 17-8 wheel and it was perfectly square on the lip of the wheel

Check manufacturer page for suggested rim width. If it is within limit you are all set.
