Last Halloween, I hit black ice turning onto a road and slid into the guardrail. Ever since, it's been a nightmare for the body shop to find parts. I have Morette headlights on the way instead of stock lamps, which are actually MORE expensive than the Morettes by about $150 for the pair. (getting them from Z-1 on the rallyperformance.com vendor page)
Back to the parts... The shop has been able to find every part except for two: the hood and the right fender. Supposedly, the hood is on national backorder, and the fender isn't any easier to find. I did my own looking, and couldn't find one either. Again, I went to the the rallyperformance.com vendor page and tried the dealer listed in Quebec. Not only did they have the fender, they promised to have the hood tomorrow! So, for future notice, if there are problems finding an OEM part, don't forget our neighbors to the North

If people would stop crashing the damn things, there'd be plenty of parts to go around

Well, it's not as if it was intentional. Luckily, I was only doing about 10 or 15 when I hit the ice, otherwise the damage would've been serious. The guardrail was just high enough to scrape the top of the bumper, which means that the grill and hood took all of the impact. The grill only got scrunched back about 3 or 4 inches, but it was just enough to "get" the fan and radiator.
I still cry thinking about the sight of my baby with the scrunched-up nose. ![]() Sometimes, accidents happen even when driving responsibly. If I had a trunkmonkey at the time, perhaps he coulda had the repairs done by the next day. :monkey: |

I didn't say it was your fault or intentional... fact of the matter is, people keep crashing them, whether they are driving beyond their skills, the limits of the car, or purely accidental. Just as an FYI, in case you aren't aware the monkey isn't waving hi or anything, he's giving the one finger salute... generally not appreciated
