Default 18X8 with springs, few questions

Im looking into MB wheels weapon right now. Looking at 18 inch wheels in 7.5 inch and 8 inch widths. Obviously the 8s would be "better" but is it worth the extra money in the wheels and tires and i dont really plan on any type of autosports? Im looking into 225/40, 235/40 and 235/35, any issues or comments on the tire size? Ill also be running the wheels with lowering springs. Mainly for looks but performance wouldnt hurt either, im looking into Tein S-techs or a spring with a similar drop. I really want to eliminate the gap from the wheel well to tire, can anyone predict any rubbing or other issues?

Thanks alot
Brett

I am currently running a 18x8 wheel with 225/40 tire with absolutely 0 rubbing issues. I also believe you can run a 235/40 tire with no rubbing issues if you drive a sedan.

I run those weapons 18x8 and have no issues..but i'm not slammed on s-techs either..but i would think worst case scenario is rolling your fenders..
