Weird behaviour from my 96 2.2
For ther record, i have a check engine light corresponding to my coolant temp sender.
I havent replaced it yet because the only problem was the check engine light, the car ran very smoothly.
Now, at idle, it is very rough, and there are instances that it feels like it is going to stall. It also slightly bucks which is kind of disheartening because if i dont have the brakes applied hard enough, it may buck into the car sitting in front of me at a red light (knock on wood)
as well, when driving, it runs smoothly to about 1900, and then for the amount of pedal pressure im applying, the engine should be reving to 3k, but its stuck around 2000-2100 wherein the car suddenly jumps to about 2700 and climbing as if i gunned it, when i never changed the angle of my foot on the pedal
The car feels like its at limp mode around 2000 but beyond that fairly long hesitation, it runs fine to redline
Can i attribute this to the temp sender? Should i be running some sort of fuel system cleaner or injector cleaner to clear up the rough idle?

The temp sender wouldn't have much to do with how your car runs, it just controls when to send coolant into the engine and stuff. replace it. Now.
