Default Interested in new racing series in South Florida???

Could I please hear from people who would be interested in a new racing series in South Florida? Races would occur at Homestead and also Moroso in West Palm Beach.

So far the minimum requirements are 4 point roll cage, 5 point safety harness, fire extinguisher, full race gear (helmet, suit, gloves, shoes, nomex), and a valid NASA competition license or SCCA participation license. We cannot allow Rookie licenses at this point.

These minimum requirements are for a street legal class that I would like to organize, and I need at least 20 serious drivers, in order to get the ball rolling. If you want just a Subaru class, and we have enough people to do it, we can do that too. Otherwise, we could make an AWD class and let people with other brands get their rear diffusers handed to them as well. Please feel free to let me know what sort of class would be most appreciated.

There are many other classes already organized and ready to go, including formula classes. I will post details regarding these classes as they are requested and as they become available. These other classes are race only, and they have stricter safety requirements.

BTW, this is no boy racer smashem up derby league. This is only for serious road racers.

Anybody?

Please offer me some feedback. If you would be interested, but find the regulations, as is. too restrictive, please tell me so, and specify in what aspect.

I'm not in FL, but I think most racers would want to know who the sanctioning body is, who the insurance carrier/underwriter is, and what the coverages are, at the very least. Also, you'll need to be a little more specific on the classing... "AWD class" is pretty broad...

From your first post the issues I have with the series.

1. Safety level is less than stellar. 4 point cage = Glorified Roll Bar to me.
2. Don't know what the series is but if it is brand new what is the schedule?
3. You don't find the cars and then build a race series around it like you say. Noone will commit to something that has no scheduled races.
4. If you did have classes organized why didn't you post it the first time? What is so secretive?

There is nothing in your first post that makes me want to race with you. There are only things that make skeptical about racing with you.
