Default 105k service

What all does everyone recommend on this service. Timing belt, water pump?

Never mind what "everyone" says, look in your service schedule that is in your owners manual package and also on the Subaru website, and follow that.

IIRC the service schedule says to replace the timing belt. For my 105k I replaced the timing belt, tensioner, checked the pulleys for wear, replaced the crank and 2 cam seals (sohc), replaced the water pump, replaced the thermostat, replaced the upper and lower radiator hoses, and used new coolant.

The thermostat and water pump will need new gaskets as well.

We do an oil change, rotate and balance tires, Timing belt and drive belts(if needed) adjust valves(if app) and a fuel system service and the usual top fluids and set tire pressure.

What's recommended in PM-3 Service Manual Section 1 is just the engine oil, engine oil filter, drive belts and camshaft belts.

I did a lot more than that since the engine was out, and the clutch was also serviced. I did the one fell swoop approach, and the Subie master mechanic put in 15 hours over a weekend. Each to his own I guess. Now I'm ready for the next upgrade level.

My stg 3 wrx does not see "easy" riding, and is closer to the severe service schedule on all the parts.
