Default Auxiliary injectors on the hydra

I'm thinking I'll choosing Hydra for my EM base on my GC8 (WRX). It seems there are a lot of good tuners out there that have tuned the Hydra to great success on the WRX. So since this is a strong foundation I'd like to explore the options that would be available. HydraMist sounds fantastic. I'd like to know more about auxiliary injector setups controlled by the hydra. My understanding is that better fuel atomization can be realized while not running WOT which will give better fuel efficiency, performance and longer engine life. Is that about right? Can someone fill in the gaps for me. I'm planning on running a built 2.0 motor with a pretty decently sized turbo (GT30ish) so anything that would help make better spool, I'm all ears.

cheers

garrett

Garrett,

The Element Hydra can control auxiliary injectors but I honestly don't recommend it. The main reason is that we can provide base maps up to 1000cc injectors and have customers running 1600cc injectors without issue. This is due to the Hydras ability to run extremely low injector pulse widths. For instance the difference in gas mileage under cruise is insignificant with my 1000cc injectors as compared to the stock injectors. HP or tuning is usually the culprit for poor fuel economy along with a lead foot

From my experience 4 less injectors, 2 less fuel rails, 4 less fuel lines is much more reliable. You just open your self up to many potential fuel air leaks in an already crowded engine bay.

Thanks,
Phil
