The rails are Sparco's non-tabbed version that bolt up to the Monza seats...not sure if they would work on different brands of seats, but I'm sure anything is possible, he he he.

Frayz, you can get a set from Japanparts, I'm sure they work out about 180 for 1 delivered to your door when I checked with Graham.

Round 12 - it’s first track day

So with the TH2's breaking after the trip home from the Nopi Nationals in Georgia, I put the Speedlines back on and decided to explore the car’s potential. I took it to Hallett Motor Racing Circuit in Jennings, Oklahoma. It’s a 1.8 mile, 10 turn road race circuit known for being pretty technical. I figured what a great way to find my limits with the car.

The day culminated in this video:

http://video.google.com/videoplay?do...=goog-sl&hl=en

I learned a lot from that day. Even though the seats hold you quite well, even with the G-Lock seatbelt holders, I wanted to be more secure, which prompted some interior changes...

Naw, afterall, it was meant to be driven. The major shows were over for the year, and I wasn't really worried about it. Wait until you see the other videos taken in the mountains...it really gets a workout for sure!

Don't get me wrong, I spent many hours cleaning rubber off it after that track day, he he he, but no worries, it all came off.

Did you make any special preparations for the track? Different brake pads, etc.?

Other than just bleeding my brakes with new fluid, not really. The car performed great.

I sold the G-Lock seatbelt locks after that event though, and turned to Sparco for their harness bar and competition belts...pics coming soon.

Before I get to that though, I went up to the mountains after that track day to flog the car bit, and do what it was meant for...the twisties!!!

Round 13 - Another set of wheels/tires, some interior goodies, and camber plate swap

All that track duty and canyon carving took it’s toll on my camber plates. The bushing design was updated to a newer, indestructible design. The folks over at Ground Control were awesome. I told them my old plates were bent, and they replaced them with the newer ones at no cost to me.

Somewhere along the line, I picked up a Prodrive diff protector. I ended up polishing it, and painting the logo Black…

So after doing my first track day, I realized that if I could stay in the seat better, my limbs would be free to drive the car, instead of holding on for deal life and trying to drive at the same time.

Turned to Sparco once again for their harness bar, and competition belt set. They’ve updated the design of the bar, and it sits further back now, allowing more room for front seat to go back further. Plus, the main bar is now in three pieces, instead of one, which made installation a lot easier. To top it off, I added the mount from Chasecam to record future track days and such…

You’ll notice in those last two pics, the car is sporting some new shoes. Even before the Compomotives broke on the way home from the NOPI Nationals in Atlanta, and before I got the Speedline Turini’s, I inquired about a wheel I saw in the Graham Goode catalog in the UK. It was called the Milenium, by Revolutions Motorsport. I fell in love with that wheel because it had superior caliper clearance, and looked STRONG, not to mention it reminded me of the Magnesium 6 spoke Speedlines that were used in the WRC on the GC8 body shell. I even contacted Speedline when I got my Turini’s and asked about it, but they no longer made it, and it was an 8.5 inch wheel, not the current WRC-spec of 8 inches...

So I inquired with Revolution Wheels USA and it turned out the photo wasn’t supposed to be published yet, and leaked out. We communicated back and forth over months and months about that wheel, and it still hadn’t made it to the production stage. Revolution USA had some issues at that point, and I finally contacted the parent company in the UK. They were awesome. They told me that they were in the middle of getting a new distributor for the United States, and the previous one was no longer going to carry their products. Since this all transpired over a years time, the main man in the UK, Warren, personally worked with me to get the very first set in the USA.

The wheels are heat treated and ultra strong. They are professional rally wheels, so they lean towards the heavier end of the scale, but I combated that with light tires…a new set of Michelin Tarmac N22 Slicks, weighing in at only 19 lbs.
