Default What is the narrowest width tires i can put on 17 x 8 wheels?

Im looking at getting a set of 17 x 8 rims (rota boost) i need the wider rims because i'll have a BBK installed up front and i dont think legacy stocker rims will clear. I dont want to go excessive on the tire width for better winter snow traction, what is the most reasonably narrow tire size i can go on this size rim?

I'd stick with at least 225/45...If it were me, I'd curb the hell out of my wheels if they had such small tires.

What BBK? There are quite a few 17x7.5 wheels that will clear most BBK's.

That being said, I wouldn't go lower than 225/45-17.

I have used 215's

but why not get a second set of wheels, like the cheap ASA's for $99 each.. to use as winter wheels.. so you will have no worries with your rota's???

Running a 215 is only trimming 5 mm per/side off what an STi runs stock. No a big deal at all.

To protect the lips, sure, the 5mm may help...but its not a big difference...

Manufacturers specifications for 215 are almost always 7-8" rims. Totally within spec....
