Default WTT: Invidia G200 for something quieter

I've decided that my Invidia G200 catback is a little loud for my taste. I've been told my 02 WRX sounds different than any Suby around. The tone is very low and deep. The catback is resonated, with an angled straight through muffler. I have a silencer for it, but I prefer not to use it. I'm looking to trade it, I have some cash as well. I'm looking for something like

Blitz Nur Spec Touring
Fujitsubo Legalis R
Tanabe Medallion Touring
JIC Spartan?

you get the idea. I basically need something close to 3" that will mate with my Invidia DP. Resonated helps. I LOVE big JDM and EDM name brand stuff, and I'm willing to pay for it. My exhuast is used, with about 5000 miles on it. It's battling its first NE winter right now. I will clean it up the best that I can, and take pics upon request. I'm willing to drive and help with the swap/install.

thanks guys

Sounds good. Out of curiosity, how much are you looking to get for it if you sell?

I'm really not sure. I'll have to see what they are going for new. I was thinking $500 sounds fair? I'd definitely want to clean it up and make sure everything was straight and nice before letting it go. I figured I could probably find another system for $600-700, so a couple hundred dollar difference wouldn't be a tough pill for me to swalllow. I'm really feeling the JIC Spartan DE Type 2 in SUS

04 RCSTI -Thats fine, I'm very flexible. I don't expect to make money on this end. I'm just trying to discount the hit I'll be taking by replacing the exhaust. I think I've landed a JIC catback for $6xx, but I need to double check. If they're going for $450 shipped, I'll take $400 picked up if that sounds fair? Whats your time frame?

thanks for the bump/kudos Alex. I still need to see your RS damnit! wheres Evan been anyways?

i have an RS*R Ex-Mag that i might be willing to trade, but id want to hear just how loud the G200 is. ive never heard it in person.

the RS*R is deep, throaty, and otherwise not loud. im willing to meet up for a sound check, but im moving to nevada in 2 weeks so wed have to do this pretty quickly.

also, i would only do a straight trade. the ex-mag is no longer in production if i understand correctly, and even if it is, its still quite rare. or so im told...

soonerorlater- I had heard about that RSR catback a while ago, but then it kinda fell off the face of the planet. I like how its become rare. I'll shoot you a PM, let me do some research first.

I love the idea of a straight trade, save me some money!

no problem at all. I can't seem to find any pictures of the RSR Ex Mag.

I like the look of the tanabe medallion touring, blitz nur spec touring, JIC spartan DE.
I want something with an oval canister, resonated, 3" all the way. I'm bummed to find out that the JIC piece tapers to 2.5" at DP flange.

When I first bought my exhaust I wanted something deep, rare, and angled
"N1 style". The G200 fits, and even though its resonated, I think the straight through design and HUGE muffler make it sound like a helicopter at idle, and it screams at anything past 3k.

do you have any pics of the RSR?

No problem. You'll have to come to the next meet we have sometime soon (not sure when yet, though - check clubWRX). Evan got his spec back but he needs a standalone system and to get it tuned, so... it's still not running, but at least it's back in MA.

Carry on!

working on finding something to replace it with. The JIC catback won't mate up with my Invidia DP, so I'm still on the fence. Anyone local want to get rid of a nice exhaust?

does that RSR have a flat 3" flange, or a donut setup?

Bump for Jim in his quest for obscure JDM exhausts.
I can vouch for how nice his G200 sounds. He drives by my house many times a day.
How many lunch breaks do you get at that place?

haha thanks buddy. Love the wagon. Truthfully is the G200 CRAZY loud or what? I try to keep it under 3k coming down the street, unlike most STI driving asshats that take the Church Street Speedway sweeper at 80mph.

And I think the general rule of thumb at the dealership is 2 breakfast breaks, 1ATM/Bank break, obviously a few lunch and dinner breaks... lol
