the overall tire diameter would be slightly smaller, but not too significant...
At 65 on the speedo you'd actually be doing 64.5

Actually it's the other way around. The 205/60 is taller than the 205/55. Your speedo will read low (you'll be going faster then the speedo indicates due to larger diameter). AWD, ABS, etc won't care as long as they're all the same size. Upside is you'll rack up miles a little slower and maybe a little better mileage due to the less revs at any given (true) speed. Downsides include possible slightly sluggish performance due to higher overall gearing (not so much if you have an auto.trans.) and it might look a little funny (the tires will be noticeably taller). A 215/55x16 might be a better choice since it will still work on the OE wheels (only 6.5" wide), isn't that much bigger, and won't make as much difference on the other stuff.

I got this set-up right now (215/55/16) and no problems. I had innitially thought of going wider but don't like the idea of the tire being on the "fast" side of things (225/50/16). I rather be going "slightly" faster then speedo indicates. That's why I'm curious about a 215/60/16 but not sure if it would fit the WRX wagon without rubbing anything.
The tire I have in mind is either the KUHMO ECSTA ASX or TOYO Proxe's 4...don't know if they carry on this sizes .
I don't plan on lowering the car and if performance doesn't get affected greatly with the taller tire (other than speedo) then I'll get it. I know the tire wall is an issue when going taller but I think the tire brands that I mentioned have a good reputation for handling in those sizes.
I'd appreciate any suggestions or comments.

I had a typo when I entered into the tire size calc... Entered a 15" wheel for the 2nd tire instead of 16.... Damn technology... It only works when the person in front of the keyboard can type and read correctly
