Fantastic. Dunno if Porsche could have done it better? Any dynos of Porsche turbos on your dyno to compare to?

What was the difference in longblock weight v. the EJ257?
What injectors and fuel pump?

Thanks

Hey when are the 3.6L versions of the EZ engine going to be available? Are you contemplating building one of those aswell? Also, ive heard that Cosworth is developing their own EZ block & heads. If so, it should be a good package for building power.

It's cool that you guys are finally finished with this project. Persistence pays!
Now get that thing on a track (Time attack or 1/4 mile) and show us what it can do

No ARP doesn't have any studs currently that are an exact fit. They are in the process of making these studs an "on the shelf" item. Until then (a couple of months) the studs that they do have (that are close but not quite) have to be... well lets just say you have to make them work.

Thats awesome but why not do a twin scroll design? Big Valley had a 40R spooling faster then a 35R on a 2.6 from crawford. Im just curious why you wouldnt go that route even with your 40R turbo kits you offer to the consumer twin scroll is what we need they would sell better

Back from the weekend!!

jnorth85,
1000WHP no, but 1000 engine (750WHP) is doable! BUt for sure the GT4094R will be needed. For now, we need to do some more beating up at 550-600WHP.

Mick,
The plan at this point is to run it at SubieFest2, but not at 600WHP. With in reason, at 500WHP, it will still spank your car! We will not go out there to try and "win", but just have fun.

cpturbo,
As far as Porsche graphs goes, i don't think so. The dyno is the PDXTuning dyno, which i don't think has any graphs from a Porsche. but it would be a good comparo.

I wish i would have weighed the 2 blocks when they were out of the car. Jeff Sponaugle will have his engine in this state very soon, maybe we should get him to weight them!

Injectors are moded WRX blue injectors. So 800CC's. THe pump is a walbro, but it doesn't quite cut it for 600WHP.

raginbull74,
All the 08 stuff is kept pretty quiet. Th 3.6L is for sure happening, but who knows if it is suitable for big power. If we speculate, the engine must be bigger, in all or some dimensions. If they bore it bigger, the length of the block must be longer. If it is not longer, then there are going to be very thin cylinder walls. If they are stroked more, then the engine will be wider. If not then shorter rods come into play, and then this also isn't good for big power. But either way, imagine how nice that extra .6L will spool a turbo! But then again you need an even bigger turbo to keep up with the air flow needed.

RS_to_WRX_swap,
Wondered how long that would take for someone to notice. LEts just say its something no one has seen before.

SVXelerator,
ARP can make them, and PDXtuning almost ordered some, but the cost of them is more, and not as strong as the 11mm STI versions. If nothing else, just use the OEM bolts, they should be fine for 400-maybe 500WHP. PLus we didn't want to wait 12 weeks to get them.

PHATsuby,
Thanks! and Thanks for the company during one of the builds! Oh and the couple of pics i forgot to take.

700hp,
They told PDX that they would not guarantee them for the HP we wanted to push. Then to get them made from the super strong material would add quite a bit more cost, and you could get the STI studs with some spacers for less. BTW, i do have some spacers left over....

Stisleeper,
It is a twinscroll. The original header and turbo wasn't but the final version is a GT4088R. These are all twinscroll housings. The twinscroll on bigger turbos doesn't make that much difference. The only reason BigValley got a 40R to come close (it was still slower, as i talked them about that) is they are using launch control. In this situation, a bigger turbos lag isn't seen that much. But on the road, it would be a different story.

The kits we offer are designed to fit our existing turbo pipes, so it has to be the normal single scroll. But that is not to say that at some point we will offer a twins scroll setup. At this point, on the GT30 and 35R turbos, i have yet to see a huge gain to be had by this. But this is being proved or disproved in the next few weeks. But i agree, people want a twinscroll, weather it is way better than just an equal length header or not.

PSM-04-STi,
You can't change the back ground, just the colors of the graphs. Yes, those can be changed, but you still have that ORANGE background! Unless they changed something i wasn't aware of. I have suggested this to Hydra many times, so who knows.
