thanks guys, I was talking to my mechanic and he suggested doing an
aftermarket clutch rather than staying with stock. I am at stage two and and i rally a lot. If anyone has anything that is higher end than a stockie I would appreciate it.

THanks again

get a new stock clutch

aftermarket clutches are the reason 97% of people break transmissions.

im running stg.2+a ton of crap, and im on a stock clutch (granted, my second one, but thats user error, i killed it @ NED). stock clutch is FORGIVING. aftermarket clutches are not

plus, stock clutch on ebay for $215 shipped. beat that price on ANY decent aftermarket clutch.

i know people running 90k mile old STOCK clutches on 20g's (on WRX's, nonetheless). it'll handle the power without being harsh to the rest of the driveline.

$215 is hardly a deal. A clutch disk from Subaru is ~100. No need to replace the pressure plate if it isn't broken.

true, but 70k miles, its probably fairly well worn (plus, there is a wearing ring on the PP that might have to be machined, depending on how it looks....i know i put 2 large grooves in mine with 27k miles). the TO bearing and pilot bearing should also be replaced, adding to the cost. $215 really isnt bad for a whole kit (with alignment tool)....considering the same kit at the dealer is ~ $450.
