Lightbulb Empty lot: check. Beer: check. Cameras: check. Rocket Scooter: check.

Rocket Scooter didn't return anything relevant on the search.

"Darwin" would probably return too much.

Could they have picked a worse scooter to do this with? holy unstable platform! I mean really... how hard is it to build longer wheelbase scooter out of a razor type deal?

the only thing that would have made this better is if the scooter came down and landed on his head...

Needs some wheelie bars. I can't see something like that taking off though.

I'm SHOCKED that the scooter went anywhere. I guess I underestimated the power of a model rocket engine... unless there were super DDD size rockets?

I put two C size engines on one of those giant (4' wingspan) Styrofoam planes once. One rocket didn't ignite and the thing came back 180 degrees after me

I remember when bottle rockets would make a 180 and create those "run for your life" moments. Good times again.

I strapped a C engine to a cardboard paper towel tube. That thing spun in the air like a top, and also created one of those "run for your life" moments

I have pictures (low res) but no video of my attempt. I've been meaning to try again for a while.

They could have cut out the first 80% of that video.

A bunch of physics majors, obviously.

NO!

That's the part with the guys with big guts and beers and kids yelling and running around and everyone talking about it and saying "yeah, git a practice run in firs..." and all the fantastic buildup!

Without that it's just a silly scooter flip video.

If he had just been able to put his feet another 12-14" further forward, that wouldn't have happened.
