Okay... Today my 95 Legacy L wagon gave me some trouble.. here is what it did..
I get going and when I take my foot off the gas it seems to maintain speed much like cruise control is on even though it isn't.. after like 1-5 seconds it would kick off.. I stop at the first red light and it's reving at like 3200rpms... get going and it's doing the sticky throttle deal again.. then at the next light at first it's reving on it's own.. like from 1000rpms to 3500rpms.. then it goes down and starts to stall out.. I had to keep my foot on the gas to keep it running... This is when the CEL finally came on... Now I've never had an OBDI Subaru before. In my old OBDI honda you could jump a plug and it would flash out the Code via the CEL.. Can you do this with Subarus? I searched but didn't see anything.. I'm kinda thinking it might be the TPS... But want to pull the code... Also does anyone have the list of codes? Thanks!

If it is hunting for Idle It would come to mind first, the IACV Idle air control valve. It will act like it is cold and try to warm it up then dip way down. All the way to 3k rpm is a little strange. I bet that was the code though 24 i think off of the link above.

Mine is OBDII and I have one of the earliest MY95 vehicles. The Impreza MY95 was described to me by an Impreza owner as OBD1.5 ![]() |

Hrmn... I thought they changed over in 96 across all cars?
The light went out and it's being fine now... I've got a shop manual thing (one of those cheap ones you see at most car parts stores) but it's packed away right now.. |
