Default best tire size for a GC

i have a '98L thats been converted into an rs and turboed and i was wondering what the best tire size(largest) would be for it. currently i have stock 16' six spoke rs wheels that are painted flat black with toyo proxies in 205/55 R16, i am think that when my proxies are worn out ill get 17's(i think 18's are too big on a gc) so what can i fit in my fenders. i was thinking that i could possibly get away with a 235/45 R17. let me know what size rubber i get that wont stick out of the fenders.

thanks
jason

235/45-17 would be way too tall of a tire.

The biggest I could fit back when I had my GC was 215 wide. I had to cut the fender lip off just to get that to fit. That was with a +50 offset wheel too. Some people have got 225's to fit, but I don't think a wide 225 or any 235 will fit without pulling the fenders.

like its been said a million times before, this all depends on what offset you're running and judging by stock RS wheels i bet its pretty high so i Highly doubt you'll get 235, let alone 225, 215 is probably your max

really? i'm considering goin with a 17x8 also but wasn't sure how wide of tires to get... How you think its gonna fit? lol i guess it depends on the offest. If i get 8 wide i definatly want a lower offset, plus low offset looks awesome
