Default How long do new glasses give you a headache?

Finally got new glasses. Been 4 years since I had my eyes checked. The doc said my script only change in my left eye.

Started wearing my new glasses today, and have had a slight headache all day. Not like making me puke my brains out headache, just a slight annoyance behind my right eye headache. When I take the glasses off, it seems to go away slightly. I can see perfectly clear now, but headaches FTL.

What say OT?

well, 400 bucks was for 2 pair. I got a regular pair and a set of sunglasses.
But yeah, I'm going tomorrow to have them adjust the earpieces and will probably let them know about it then.

They probably wrote the script wrong. It happened to me when I got my last pair of glasses. I told them it was wrong and all they said was, "oh it's fine you're just not used to them."

It took 2 months to finally get everything right. Lucky for me I got 2 pairs and they got one of them correct in a week.

I don't want to go back to that place except for the fact that all the doctors are hot and wear low cut tops.

I don't remember ever getting headaches when I have gotten new glasses. Usually I get the headaches when I need new ones.

same for me. The only weird thing I really notice with new glasses is that the gauge cluster in the car doesn't look as slanted as it used to be with the old glasses.

They probably have the left lens on the right and the right lens on the left.

i always get headaches for like the first day or two after getting new glasses (I'm waiting for my new pair to be finished again. my prescription was messed up when i got them a few weeks ago - oddly enough only my left eye changed as well but the new glasses were blurry. not enough correction for my astigmatism i guess)

I once got new specs that gave me problems - kept telling myself I just needed more time to adjust. Finally took 'em back in to get checked and one side was 90degs off on the astimatism correction!

I was forced to get a pair of glasses. ( always had contacts, had some eye issues and couldnt wear them for a week) They gave me a slight headache for the first 2 days. I think i just wasnt used to wearing them.

I find usually about 3 days and I am adjusted and the headaches go away. The 200 for the glasses kind of sucks though.

With my insurance I got 300.00 dollar frames with 300.00 lenses and a 50.00 eye exam and paid 35.00 out of pocket. Vision insurance FTW

They shouldn't bother you at all. If the axis is off or the cylinder power (astig. correction) is wrong that would definately cause you to have headaches. For sure tell them what's going on, it could just be as simple as readjusting the way they sit on your face. If they're a good optical shop they should do whatever needs to be done to make you happy and make sure you can see.

Well, things seem to be better today. No headache. Must have just needed to get used to the new script.

Yup, my optometrist warned me that I would be getting a slight headache from my new glasses because my prescription had changed so dramatically. But, I have been going to the optometrist annually for 15 years now and have been accustomed to having the headache that comes with wearing a new pair of glasses.

I just got a new pair last week. The insurance paid for the lenses and for almost half the cost of the frames. But, I still paid about $300 out of pocket because they're awesome Beausoleil frames. My right eye went from -4.75 to -5.25 and my left from -4.25 to -5.00 and I have astigmatism in both eyes.

Glad you've acclimated to the new pair.

^^^^ damn you are practically blind

400 isn't bad for glasses, I believe my frames were 500 and lenses are 100. i also have had the same frames for 5+ years now, and instead of spending 200 or so everyother year i splurged and got frames that i will just reuse. also the are hollow titanium, and are twisted, so no screws at all.
