Default Procarparts.com Intake?

I was wondering if anyone had used the intake from porcarpars.com for the 1998 RS? Their website says it is for the 1990-1997 Imprezas and Legacy. Is the setup much different? I have tried to search and found limited info on this part. Any help would be great!

Thanks Shaun

Thumbs down WHAT!

Don't buy that peice of crap!

it doesn't retain the stock airbox. you will lose low end and that will suck.

It doesn't matter how cheap that thing is, it is a waste of money!

Bear with me here cause i may have no idea what im talking about... Just trying to be helpfull. Dosn't the 98RS have a MAF? If so i though it had to mount before the intake manifold and i see no place on that intake for it to go. Once again i am only a small step away from completely talking out my ass so check first with someone that knows.

As for my openion i would agree with scubaracer. Even if it did work i wouldn't buy it.

my $0.02

Default just my .o2

The pic that they give does NOT include all the parts you get. There are actually 2 silicone adapters w/ enough gear clamps and three silicone hoses w/ clips. All the intake bungs are in the right place so the hoses don't kinn. The MAF adapter is sturdy. The hangers provided are not. The filter element is just as good as any other, it is a K&N product. The entire kit is finished well.

IMHO, this kit is far superior to the Weapon-R intakes, which are made from welded steel tubing, have the intake bungs in poor positions, have a plastic "universal" MAF adapter, and a heavy inferior filtering element.

For a newbie that just wants to get rid of the factory intake & make some noise this is a good alternative to other short ram intakes.

Keep in mind I do NOT have any of these systems. SCCA rules dictate that I can only use a Group N filter.

thanks for all of your input, I think I am going to go with the Accurit Performance Intake. I looks good and everyone seems to like the product and the company.

More questions (and I know they've been asked before) Should I eventually get a SAFC? Should I first get an SAFC then an Intake? I have about $300 left after I bought my tires and exhaust and I want a little more Umph. What is the best for the money?

No, just a RacerDesign Muffler. I had a friend who's Dad owns a Mieneke bend some pipe and weld it in. It pulls a lot harder now over 3500rpm's. It is not as loud as I thought it would be (GOOD).
