Default Sticking Interior Door Handles

02 wrx wagon
138k miles

some of my interior door handles will stick in the open postion.
it seems to be occuring on the less used handles. Drivers door doesn't seem to have this problem, but my others sporadically do.

you open the door from the inside, and the inside door handle does not want to spring back to the closed position. you need to manually push the handle closed to be able to close the door.

anyone have this and find a solution??

closest thread i found was old (03) and in Warranty forum here:

thanks in advance

I occasionally have this problem as well as a squeeky handle.

My driver's side interior door release handle is also sticking and/or squeaking.

Pull on the handle and it won't fully retract on most occasions. As it's trying to retract and/or when pushed back in, it will squeak.

It sounds like plastic on plastic, meaning the handle is contacting the rest of the assembly that is effectively behind the bezel and/or door-panel.

I'm going to investigate this soon and see what I find. I'm thinking if the handle has distorted from use over time, but there are no apparent cracks or the like, I would more-than-likely use some silicone grease on the affected area(s).

We'll see.
