I'm sure that this thread has been started before but i'm new to this forum and need some assistance. I am currently talking with a couple of different sellers about buying a set of wheels and shipping them. One is the wheels only, while the other is wheels and tires. My question is: what is the best shipping method? I have read that some ship through Discount Tire but one seller i'm talking with went to a local Discount and they didn't have any idea about that shipping service. I have also heard some say that they ship two seperate packages containing two wheels in each package (via UPS I believe). Any help would be greatly appreciated. Drew.

I have shipped just rims before. It was just under $20 a rim thru post office Priority mail . Ups should be cheaper with 2 wheels at a time. Tires should add quite a bit because of the weight

with tires w/ wheels, put cardboard on the front and back of the wheel, then wrapped it in cellophane or something like that. that's how most wheels/tires get shipped around here.
The tires are their own protection for the rim. |

UPS now charges an arm and a leg for shipping rims/tires not in a box. Some sort of unusual package surcharge. It cost me over $30 a rim/tire to send them only one state away with UPS ground. Any its not the weight its the size for UPS. And its the weight and not the size for usps. Take your pick!

FedEx ground!!! I have shipped or 5 sets with them. With tires only, Wrap a few loops of shwrink wrap through the rim hole for labels to stick to. I shipped 5 35" tall tires individually like this. For my car, I bundled 2 together w rims, with cardboard between and shwrinkwrapped the hell out of them. Made it from Illinois to Arizona with no problems. You can drop them off at ANY Kinkos location as well. Hope that helps. Rates are good too.
